An interactive training day focusing on the manual handling of children from birth to adulthood is taking place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Solihull on Friday 20th November, 2020. The course will be run by Mike Cowan-Jones, Occupational Therapist.
Training will address themes such as:-
- Therapeutic handling vs Handling for Carers
- Consent and Capacity
- Engaging with Parents
- Hoisting – including deciding when to hoist, what type of hoist, choosing the correct sling, and hoisting the child with postural challenges
- Working at floor level
- The legal and theoretical perspective.
- Designing properties with moving and handling in mind
Plus the opportunity to bring your cases to the training so that solutions can be found to the challenges that you face.
